Data Collection Application

A large metals producing corporation was manually performing process maintenance readings using a DMM. The information was recorded on paper and entered into the computer system at a later time. We developed, using the C-Cubed CF2 module and a hand held computer, a custom software program that eliminated the manual recording and data entry. This program allowed the maintenance personnel to make and record measurements directly to the hand held computer and have that data downloaded to the main frame directly from the unit.

Final Product Assembly Vision Inspection

A local electrical manufacturer required complete inspection of their product prior to shipment. This verification included installation and placement of labels and installation of all assembly hardware. We developed, through the use of a Cartesian robot, a vision inspection system that performed multiple inspections of the part. These inspections verified the proper hardware installation as well as performing an OCR inspection of the labels. The label inspections helped to ensure that not only were the labels applied in the proper locations, but also that those labels were the correct type for that product.

Package Flow Monitoring and Control

A large international package delivery service required a system to help regulate the package flow across various areas of the facility. We developed, through the use of DVT vision systems, a control algorithm to monitor and report the various product levels and allow the controlling PLC to divert product to available areas.

Material Handling

A large international package delivery service was building a new sortation facility to handle their expanding business. We were responsible for the PLC design, integration and deployment of the project. This project was comprised of 28 different PLC processors with over 13,000 I/O points including conveyor controls, product level sensing and flow control. The system utilized redundant PLC’s as well as redundant fiber and MCC’s.

Connector Assembly

A mid-size connector assembly corporation required a machine to install and bend the pins on a two-row connector header. Using a two-axis motion controller, we designed and integrated the logic to control the machine to bend the connector header within the customers required tolerances.
